Notice of Vacancy


NOTICE is given that, due to the resignation of Patrick Flaherty, a vacancy has arisen for a Councillor for the Guiting Power Parish Council.

The vacancy will be filled by election if a request from 10 local government electors for the Parish is received within 14 days of the date of this notice. The request must be received by 21 February 2020.

Requests should include each electors’ name, address and signature and should be sent to the Returning Officer at the address below.

If 10 signatures are not received by the date given, the Parish Council may fill the vacancy by cooption.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 28 April 2020.

Care & Support Guide 2020


An updated Gloucestershire Care and Support Guide for 2020 has been published in association with Gloucestershire County Council. It provides information on how to live well for longer, independently, and in your own home. It also explains how to access a wide range of services that are available for people who need extra care or support, whether that’s in their own home or in a care home.

Gloucestershire Local Transport Plan


The LTP Review formal public consultation is January 16th to March 26th 2020.  The Local Transport Plan  - Draft for Consultation is available online as; read only version, downloadable version and accessible (read out loud) version.  Access to the online LTP Review questionnaire will provide feedback for your comments. 

A hard copy for public access of the LTP – Draft for Consultation will be made available at the district council main reception during the consultation period.

Cotswold District Council Budget 2020/21

Cotswold District Council has carried out a consultation on its proposed budget for the 2020/21 financial year.


Recycling and garden waste changes from March

The changes mean that you:

    - will get a new cardboard larger bag
    - can recycle extra items including textiles and shoes, batteries, cartons and small electrical items
    - need to keep food waste separate and put it in your new outdoor food waste bin which is collected weekly
    - Refuse and recycling will still be collected fortnightly
    - Garden waste will switch from weekly to fortnightly

What you need to do

You need to make sure that you have the right number of recycling containers. You will need two recycling boxes, one for paper and the other for glass. To order a recycling box see the link below
